Ko-ken is a global leader in professional tool manufacturing, known for designing and producing high-performance tools entirely in-house using advanced technology and uncompromising quality standards.
Our story begins with our founder, Mr. Yamashita, whose journey reflects determination and craftsmanship. At just 18, he traveled to the United States in pursuit of opportunity. Starting with humble work, he developed both his skills and his passion for automobiles—ultimately earning a role at Ford Motor Company under Henry Ford himself. Over 18 years in America, he built deep expertise in manufacturing and engineering.
Returning to Japan in 1925, Mr. Yamashita continued his career with General Motors Japan before founding Ko-ken in 1940. Transforming a former warehouse into a tool manufacturing facility, he combined his experience with a relentless focus on precision and durability.
By 1957, Ko-ken began exporting sockets and accessories worldwide, establishing a reputation for strict quality control and exceptional performance.
Today, Ko-ken remains committed to the same principles it was founded on: precision, reliability, and excellence in every tool we produce.
